Hydrodynamics International was formed through a joint venture between Superior Growers Supply, Inc. and the West Australian company, Growth Technology Ltd. with the purpose of importing successful European and Australian horticultural products into the North American hobby greenhouse and hydroponics market. We engaged the leading distributors in the field as our subdistributors to achieve the broadest level of market coverage in the industry.
The relationship between Growth Technology and Superior Growers Supply commenced in 1989, when SGS became the U.S. distributor for the Australian manufactured rooting compound known as Clonex. Subsequently, a number of highly successful nutrient formulations were licensed to SGS on a royalty basis and furthered the positive relationship between the two companies.
Superior Growers Supply, Inc. (SGS), one of the first hydroponic companies in the United States, was founded in 1983. Originally a manufacturer of HID lighting, SGS expanded its production to include hydroponic systems and liquid nutrients. SGS also has two retail locations and markets its products to both retail and wholesale customers throughout North America through our website and mail order catalog.
Growth Technology is a division of Growth Corporation Pty Ltd, a West Australian company that derives its principal income from hydroponically grown tomatoes and herbs. Commercial production began in 1982 and Growth Technology was formed in 1987. The decision to enter the European market was made in 1992 and the offices of Growth Technology UK were opened that year. Growth Technology supplies nutrient formulations to commercial growers across Australia and in many other parts of the world, from Chile to Russia.
Hydrodynamics International actively strives to promote the excellence of its products through involvement with trade magazines, displays at trade shows, and developing relationships with store owners nationwide. Every significant distributor in North America is a reseller of Hydrodynamics International products, which is indicative of the high regard the industry holds for our company and our unique product offerings.
